The challenge

We coded a responsive HTML newsletter template for Keck Medicine of USC in Los Angeles, following USC brand consistency throughout each section of the newsletter layout design. The newsletter content was originally placed in a word document, making it challenging to visualize a layout design. MJM Designz drew up several mockup designs for approval before engineering the final newsletter. This tactic helped us follow a design blueprint without wasting time when developing the final product. USC has a specific branding identity that needs to be mirrored across all communication vehicles and websites. With this project, we achieved our client’s goal of developing a newsletter template from scratch to repurpose for future campaigns to distribute through Salesforce or Jangomail.

The web design solution

We designed two mockups to present to the USC leadership team in Los Angeles before going into the engineering process. After approval, we concentrated on coding a HTML template with nested tables for cross browser capability. After we developed the newsletter, we tested the layout file in multiple web browsers. The imagery was handed off from the project manager which required our graphic design skills to edit images in Photoshop that fit the newsletter. MJM Designz focuses on custom web design, WordPress development, landing page development, SEO optimization and mobile responsive web design.
